Schaerer Ltd. is launching the Coffee Vito, a further development in the line of successful Schaerer coffee factory products. Like its predecessor, the Schaerer Coffee Vito is available in two different versions, using fresh milk or powdered milk. The new design features an attractive control panel, larger bean containers and Aquaflex, an added function making it simple to switch between the water tank and a mains water connection.

In developing the Schaerer Coffee Vito, the focus was on fulfilling the needs of clients who put quality before quantity and for whom ease of operation and low maintenance are important, such as small cafés and restaurants, offices and vending stations.

International roasting workshop

Early in November, 2009, thirty interested coffee roasting companies from Norway, Ireland, Scotland, England and the Netherlands convened at the Neuhaus Neotec Coffee Roasting Forum. Host of the international roasting workshop was the Masteroast Coffee Company in Peterborough, England.

Together with an intensive theoretical session with topics like environmentally friendly roasting, plant control systems, copy and profile roasting or new packaging materials, practical demonstrations were of course was on the agenda. The participants went for a plant tour with subsequent tasting of coffee to distinguish the different aroma profiles, which are possible with the same green coffee and the same roasting color by variable roasting on the RFB roaster.

New drum-type roaster

With the new drum-type roaster CTR-3000 Neuhaus Neotec completes its product range with a roasting machine for traditional specialty roasting.

In 2009, leading Vietnamese coffee roaster Trung Nguyen Coffee Company started modernization of its Buon Ma Thuot City coffee plant. At the heart of the US$40 million investment is a 4,000 kg/hr Neuhaus Neotec RFB-350 roaster. The plant is slated to go on line in the middle of 2010.

   

Unveiling the Chain-Vey

US

Modern Process Equipment (MPE) has launched its newest addition to its product line – the MPE Chain-Vey. This tubular drag conveyor marries chain and disc technologies to gently move products without the use of air. The Chain-Vey ensures the transport of particle blends without the risk of segregation or breakage, thereby making it an optimal solution for hundreds of products including ground coffee, dried foods, material chips, activated carbon and more.
