With the new drum-type roaster CTR-3000 Neuhaus Neotec completes its product range with a roasting machine for traditional specialty roasting.

Roasting plants by Neuhaus Neotec represent an innovative and progressive roasting technology based on hot air. The implementation of the RFB roaster about 20 years ago accounts for the international success of the roasting plant manufacturer in the field of convection roasting.

For the traditional roasting recipes of the specialty coffee roasters, Neuhaus Neotec has now extended its product range by introducing a new drum-type roaster, customized for longer roasting times and classical roasting concepts.

The CTR-3000 has been laid out for a capacity of up to 3t/h with a batch size between 480kg (1,000 lb) and 640kg (1,400 lb). Even though the drum-type roaster has been designed especially for traditional roast processes, it incorporates new technical solutions, demanding safety features and a forward-looking energy concept.

The operation of the new CTR-3000 is easy and uncomplicated. The programmable logic controller (SPS) together with an operating panel allows automatic operation. The touch panel with operating keys, which is mounted directly at the roaster, displays all important information.

Neuhaus Neotec also offers the option to operate and control the process by a visual system.

Operation and process control are fully automatic. Roasting parameters can be secured as recipes. Furthermore there is the option of computer-integrated profile- and copy-roasting for uniform roasting processes which can be exactly reproduced.

Efficient heat transfer is achieved due to continuous and intensive flow of roasting air through the batch. The burner, which is situated under the roasting drum, heats the circulating roasting gases to the set temperature level and stabilizes them by a control circuit. Roasting gases are circulated in order to save energy.

Energy costs can also be reduced by preheating of the green coffee batch through direct or indirect hot air. This will save energy and increase the roasting capacity.

For even better performance the CTR-300 operates with a second bin for green coffee in order to avoid waiting times between two roasting batches.

With the new CTR-300, roasting companies who prefer a drum-type roaster can now also purchase complete lines by Neuhaus Neotec from one source with confidence. This will make planning, installation and commissioning safer and easier.
