
Early in November, 2009, thirty interested coffee roasting companies from Norway, Ireland, Scotland, England and the Netherlands convened at the Neuhaus Neotec Coffee Roasting Forum. Host of the international roasting workshop was the Masteroast Coffee Company in Peterborough, England.
Together with an intensive theoretical session with topics like environmentally friendly roasting, plant control systems, copy and profile roasting or new packaging materials, practical demonstrations were of course was on the agenda. The participants went for a plant tour with subsequent tasting of coffee to distinguish the different aroma profiles, which are possible with the same green coffee and the same roasting color by variable roasting on the RFB roaster.
After that the general manager of Masteroast, Andy Fawkes, informed roasting colleagues about the demands on a modern coffee roasting plant as regards to engineering, the roaster and logistics.
