Coffee and prostate cancer

Drinking at least six cups of coffee every day may help reduce the risk of contracting advanced prostate cancer by as much as 60% according to a recent study, the first to look at the relationship between coffee and metastatic prostate cancer.
Men that drank one to three cups of coffee daily – even decaf - enjoyed a 30% lower risk of contracting lethal prostate cancer.
“This is an exciting finding, because there aren’t many modifiable risk factors for prostate cancer,” according to lead researcher Kathryn Wilson.
Although the research appears promising, it did not demonstrate a definite cause-and-effect link and what coffee’s role in future treatments to help prevent prostate malignancy has yet to be determined.
