The North American Tea Championship Hot Tea Class/Spring Tea competitors were held in Las Vegas, Nevada last July 27-28. The event marked the first time the competition was held separately from the World Tea Expo, and it is the only independent and professionally judged event in North America (including Tea & Coffee Asia contributor Jane Pettigrew). More than 200 teas had entered the competition, and are divided into two major classes with its own judges and 15 categories each.
