Record coffee exports

The International Coffee Organization (ICO) has announced that world coffee exports have jumped by 9.3% to a record 103.1 million bags in the 2010-11 crop year. This figure means that coffee exports are at an all-time high level, surpassing last year’s level of 94.3 million bags.
However, according to the ICO, coffee exports declined by 14.6% year-on-year from 8.24 million in September 2010 to 7.04 million bags in September 2011. This also represents a drop from the 7.21 million bags exported in August 2011.
Arabica exports in the crop year 2010-11 stands at 66.6 million bags, a significant increase from 61.5 million bags in the same period last year. Worldwide Robusta exports reached 36.6 million bags, which also corresponds to an increase in shipments from 32.7 million bags in the corresponding period of 2009-2010.
