Probat is extending its product range in the industrial roaster segment and introduces the Probat Basic. The drum roaster fulfils the basic requirements of roasting businesses in terms of efficiency and reproducible roasting quality.

The decisive factor for developing this roaster was market demands.

"With the Basic, we have introduced to the market a drum roaster that boasts well-known Probat quality while serving a new price-performance segment," Rainer van der Beek, head of sales at Probat, explains. "It offers all necessary features for entering Probat’s industrial roaster segment." The roaster is available in two variants for roasting times between 8 and 20 minutes: Basic 1000 (hourly output 900 kilograms) and Basic 2000 (hourly output 2,000 kilograms).

With the Basic, Probat has – as always – employed its many years of experience and know-how, something that can be seen in many details, for instance, in the double-walled drum, state-of-the-art technology and the dimensioning of fill level, drum diameter and air volume.

The Probat Basic is designed to be operated in recirculation mode. Further features include fully automatic controls with clearly arranged visualization as well as a standard-equipped exhaust air cleaning system that significantly reduces product-specific odors and visible exhaust fumes. The roasting process is terminated via a two-step water quenching system that also serves to pre-cool the coffee. Emergency water quenching and manual emergency operation of the roasting drum as well as the cooler stirring mechanism also provide for controlled operation in emergencies. Additionally, all exhaust air, roasting air and cooling air pipes are partially pre-fitted with insulation and the whole roasting system package also includes a chaff compactor.
