Modern Process Equipment (MPE) has purchased III Sigma Company of Lawrence, Kansas, US, a leader in automated, on-line bulk density and moisture monitoring systems. III Sigma is a provider to numerous Fortune 100 companies and will undoubtedly contribute to MPE’s new product offerings.

The MPE III Sigma Reliadens is an inventive sampling device. It is the first on-line automated bulk density monitoring system for producers of dry flowing products. It provides continuous, and instant, in-line bulk density measurements. Additionally, the MPE Reliadens can be integrated into MPE’s grinding equipment to offer the "total package" of invariable bulk density maintenance.

The AquaDens is the first on-line automated, mechanical bulk density and moisture monitoring system for dry flowing products.

MPE has also launched the newest addition to its product line – The MPE Chain-Vey. This tubular drag conveyor marries chain and disc technologies to gently move products without the use of air. The Chain-Vey ensures the transport of particle blends without the risk of segregation or breakage, thereby making it an optimal solution for hundreds of products including ground coffee, dried foods, material chips, activated carbon and more.

Various sizes (4", 5", 6") meet nearly all capacity requirements and the flexible design is capable of making directional changes, in multiple planes, and is constructed to meet the standards required in sanitary environments.

Aside from the intuitive benefits listed above, other Chain-Vey advantages include: sealed tube – contains aroma and allows for air-tight conveying; self-cleaning – eliminates cleaning between change-over; conveying distances up to 300 feet; flexible designs – multiple inlets and discharge points possible and four times less energy usage compared to pneumatic conveying systems.

The newly redesigned coffee website of MPE is now live and contains a wealth of information on these and other products and news from the company.

The new site features an interactive search tool – the ‘Grinder Finder’ – as well as expanded product content, downloadable information, video clips and a resource directory. The redesign also incorporates contemporary graphics and completely new navigational tools.

The ‘Grinder Finder’ is an interactive tool allowing users to pare-down their grinding equipment options by equipment category, grind type and capacity. Thereafter, the user has the capability of directly accessing the detailed information concerning the best equipment fit for their application.
